Sick

Well, what a ducky way to end the year: I woke up this morning with a 102.2 degree temperature, and my skin, muscles, teeth, head, ears, chest and throat hurting. Went to the doctor, who poked and prodded and said I have a deep-seated bronchial infection and the Flu. Not the flu (small f), mind you, The Flu (big F, influenza). He gave me some painkillers, some codeine cough syrup to make my chest stop spasming, and some antibiotics for the crud in my bronchial tubes and told me to go home and lay on the couch for a few days. Ugh. Two poems to write today. I will finish, but I think it’s gonna be with a whimper, not a bang. Sorry.
